
"Dialogue for the development of SMEs in the challenges of decarbonization and transition" - a meeting of stakeholders on GreenSmartMed and COMMIT projects

11/11/2024On November 8, after the International Forum "Bulgaria and the OECD in the context of national economic development and green innovations", an important meeting of stakeholders on the SITRANS, GH2M and RuralMED projects was held in Stara Zagora. The event brought together representatives of leading institutions, organizations and companies engaged in the development of modern energy solutions and economic sustainability.

Dr. Rumyana Grozeva, executive director of the Stara Zagora Regional Economic Development Agency, presented the three projects and their contribution to the region. She emphasized the significance of the development of Stara Zagora - a region that is looking for effective solutions to address industrial challenges and strengthen the local economy. Discussions with specialists at the meeting highlighted the need for cooperation and new approaches to achieve a sustainable future.

Associate Professor Vladimir Zinoviev from the Energy System Operator (ESO) talked about the "School for Energetics" program - an innovative initiative aimed at attracting and developing young talents in the field of energy. He shared how ESO's dual studies, internship programs and scholarship initiatives enable pupils and students to gain practical experience in a real work environment. The program not only prepares future professionals, but also strengthens the link between education and industry, thus providing personnel for the country's modern energy system.

Mr. Dragomir Ivanov from "Hydrogenera" impressed with the presentation of the green technologies that the company is developing. He spoke about the electrolysers produced by the Hydrogenerator, which use renewable energy to create green hydrogen – a fuel with huge potential for decarbonising industries such as ceramics, dairy and construction. Ivanov emphasized that the company has already successfully implemented projects in Europe and Turkey and has recently attracted an investment of 2 million euros to expand production and implementation of new innovations.
The meeting created a space for the exchange of ideas and expertise, emphasizing concrete steps to modernize energy and promote sustainable economic solutions. The participants expressed confidence that through such initiatives, Bulgaria will take a leading position in the development of green technologies and sustainable practices.
